Gledhill Cylinder Repairs in Leeds – Same Day Service
Gledhill hot water systems are fitted in thousands of Leeds homes and apartments – from Stainless Lite unvented cylinders in houses to PulsaCoil and Boilermate thermal stores in city-centre flats. If your Gledhill hot water tank has stopped heating, is dripping, or the pressure has dropped, we can usually repair it the same day.
We are BPEC-qualified and G3-certified to work on unvented cylinders, and we’re very familiar with Gledhill’s electric and thermal store systems, which are common in apartment blocks around Leeds city centre, Clarence Dock and the surrounding areas.

Gledhill Systems We Repair
- Gledhill Stainless Lite and Stainless Lite Plus – unvented, mains-pressure hot water cylinders heated by a boiler or immersion.
- Gledhill PulsaCoil – electric thermal store that provides mains-pressure hot water, very common in flats with Economy 7.
- Gledhill Boilermate – thermal store that works with a gas boiler to provide heating and mains-pressure hot water.
- Older Gledhill cylinders and thermal stores.
Common Gledhill Problems
- No hot water or lukewarm water – failed immersion elements, thermostats, or (on thermal stores) a faulty pump, diverter or control board.
- Water running too hot or temperature going up and down – usually a mixing valve or thermostat fault on thermal stores.
- Dripping from the tundish or overflow pipe – expansion vessel, pressure reducing valve or relief valve problems. See water dripping from the tundish.
- Low or uneven pressure at the taps – blocked strainers or worn valves.
- Feed and expansion tank overflowing on thermal stores – usually a float valve or overheating problem.
- Leaks from valves, pipework or the store itself.
Gledhill in a Flat or Apartment?
Many Leeds apartments have a Gledhill PulsaCoil or similar electric system in a cupboard, heated on cheap overnight electricity. When these go wrong you can be left with no hot water at all. We regularly repair these systems and carry common parts, so you’re not waiting days for a fix. Landlords and letting agents are welcome to book on behalf of tenants.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a PulsaCoil an unvented cylinder?
Not exactly. A Gledhill PulsaCoil is an electric thermal store: it stores hot water to heat your mains water as you use it, so you still get mains-pressure hot water. We repair both PulsaCoil thermal stores and Gledhill unvented cylinders.
Why has my Gledhill stopped giving hot water?
The most common causes are a failed immersion element, a tripped or faulty thermostat, or on thermal stores a pump or control fault. Also check the Economy 7 timer and the switch on the wall. If those are fine, call us and we can usually fix it the same day.
Can you repair a Gledhill in a rented flat?
Yes. We work for tenants, landlords and letting agents across Leeds. We just need permission from whoever is paying and access to the property.
Do I need a G3 qualified engineer for a Gledhill?
For Gledhill unvented cylinders such as the Stainless Lite, yes – the law requires an unvented (G3) qualified engineer. Our engineers hold that qualification.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. We charge a fixed hourly rate from the time we arrive (a diagnostic charge applies) and give a fully itemised invoice.
