Megaflo Repairs in Leeds – Same Day, No Call Out Fee
Is your Megaflo (often spelt “Megaflow”) not giving you hot water, dripping from the pipe outside, or losing pressure? We repair Heatrae Sadia Megaflo hot water cylinders across Leeds every week, including the original Megaflo and the newer Megaflo Eco range. Whether you call it a Megaflo, a pressurised hot water tank or just “the hot water tank in the cupboard”, we can help – usually the same day.
Megaflo cylinders are unvented, which means they store hot water at mains pressure. Because of that, by law they must only be worked on by someone holding an unvented (G3) qualification – which we do.

Common Megaflo Problems We Fix
- Water dripping from the tundish or the pipe outside – usually the expansion vessel (or the internal air bubble on internal-expansion models) has lost its charge, or the pressure reducing valve has failed. Read more about tundish and overflow pipe problems.
- No hot water – a failed immersion element, a tripped high-limit thermostat, or a stuck motorised (zone) valve stopping the boiler heating the cylinder.
- Hot water too hot or not hot enough – faulty cylinder or immersion thermostat.
- Low or surging pressure at the taps – a blocked inlet strainer or a worn cold water combination valve.
- Leaks from valves and fittings around the top or side of the cylinder.
- Immersion heater not working on Economy 7 or as a backup to the boiler.
Megaflo Parts Carried on the Van
We carry the parts that fail most often on Megaflo cylinders – pressure reducing and combination valves, expansion relief cartridges, temperature and pressure relief valves, immersion elements and thermostats – so most Megaflo repairs are completed on the first visit. If a part isn’t on the van we can usually get it the same day from a Leeds merchant.
Is My Megaflo Safe?
A Megaflo has several safety devices to stop it overheating or over-pressurising. Water coming from the tundish or the outside discharge pipe is a sign one of them is working harder than it should. A cold drip is not an emergency, but it should be looked at soon. If the water is hot or steaming, turn off the immersion heater and the boiler and call us straight away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Megaflow the same as a Megaflo?
Yes. Megaflo is the brand name of Heatrae Sadia’s unvented hot water cylinder, and it is very often spelt Megaflow. Many people also use the name for any pressurised hot water cylinder, whatever the make.
Why is my Megaflo dripping from the pipe outside?
The most common causes are an expansion vessel or air bubble that has lost its charge, or a faulty pressure reducing valve. Both are usually quick repairs once diagnosed. If the water is hot, turn off the immersion and boiler and call us.
Can any plumber repair a Megaflo?
No. Unvented cylinders such as Megaflo must be installed and repaired by someone holding an unvented (G3) qualification. Our engineers are BPEC-qualified and G3-certified.
How often should a Megaflo be serviced?
Heatrae Sadia recommend an annual service by a qualified engineer, and it is usually required to keep the warranty valid. See our annual unvented cylinder service.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. We charge a fixed hourly rate from the time we arrive (a diagnostic charge applies) and give a fully itemised invoice.
